Wind power creates jobs
The Case for Wind, in 10 Blade Points
Wind power creates jobs
Blade point #5
In 1978, when LM Wind Power was founded and manufactured our first blades on a hill in Denmark, there was no wind industry. Now wind power is a huge industrial sector, it is global and it is growing — employing over 1 million people (GWEC, 2016). We employ some of the world's brightest engineers to create even more cost effective blades to power even more efficient machines, especially for offshore markets.
Meet the more than 1 million people worldwide who work in wind. We design and manufacture the longest man-made structures on earth — with a rotor longer than a football field, and tip speeds faster than a Formula One racing car. We produce clean, renewable electricity and provide energy security for future generations. Together, we capture the wind!
