LM Wind Power Technology Center ranks among India's top 50 workplaces!

Our Technology Center India is a glowing example of who we are, how we work and why we are pioneers at what we do. Now, the Great Place to Work Institute has recognized the success of this outstanding team, ranking TCI at number 36 among the Top 50 Mid-Size Companies in India!

In many ways, the LM Wind Power Technology Center India (TCI) is a microcosm of our global business. With more than 170 employees contributing to almost every function around the world – including Engineering, Operations, Industrialization, IT, Global Quality, EHS, Market Intelligence and more – the center is a glowing example of who we are, how we work and why we are pioneers at what we do.

Now, the Great Place to Work Institute has recognized the success of this outstanding team, ranking TCI at number 36 among the Top 50 Mid-Size Companies in India! Among the 400+ companies in India participating in this year’s ranking across various sectors, our Technology Center India was the only renewables-sector, mid-size company making it to the Top 50.

Each year the Great Place to Work Institute partners with over 8000 organizations globally to help them assess their workplace culture, as well as learn about creating and sustaining a great workplace. They also identify and recognize great workplaces across the globe and publish the results annually.

This year TCI also celebrated 10 years of successful operations in Bangalore – the perfect moment to reflect on the recipe that created this great workplace, said Jitendra Bijlani, TCI Director.

“We couldn’t have become the best place to work without the commitment of each one of our colleagues at TCI,” Jitendra said. “I want to thank everyone for bringing their positive attitudes to work every day,  for embracing  our extended family at the office, for having fun while taking on their next professional challenges and, finally, for delivering vehemently to the success of the organization.”

    Building trust
During 2011, the TCI team embarked on this journey to create an even better workplace by partnering with the Great Place To Work Institute. Since then, the TCI management team has followed up with an action plan every year, based on the survey results. This has helped to further strengthen the employee-employer relationship with consistent results year on year.

The Institute measures employee perception through a survey on the level of trust within the organization and an audit of people-related management practices. TCI’s certification as a Great Place to Work reflects the team’s consistently high Trust Index over the past three years – surpassing the average score for the Top 50 companies in India! While Jitendra is proud of TCI’s achievement, he recognizes that creating a great workplace is an ongoing journey.

“Let’s make sure we are not complacent or think of this moment as ‘the destination,’” he said.  “Our TCI management team commits ourselves to continued work on building this culture of trust and openness, in partnership with all of our colleagues.”

First stop in the @generalelectric Haliade 150-6MW #WindCycle: blade production. At our factory in Castellón, #Spain, we made the 198 LM blades that will eventually spin at #Merkur offshore wind farm. Each blade is 241 feet (73.5 meters) long and 27 tons, helping the turbine generate 6 MW of energy.
