Celebrating an historic day

On April 20, 2017 at 12:37 CET, we made an historic announcement: LM Wind Power becomes part of GE Renewable Energy!

Just minutes after the announcement, colleagues in Denmark received an invitation to join the first management Town Hall in Lunderskov.

Standing next to our heritage timeline, CEO Marc de Jong opened the Town Hall by referencing where it all began – in 1940 when Lunderskov Møbelfabrik was established as a wooden furniture company in Denmark.

Alongside Duncan Berry, GE Integration Leader, Marc told the story of our company’s achievements and expansion worldwide up to the present day. Together, Duncan and Marc revealed the latest addition to the timeline, featuring our new logo: LM Wind Power, a GE Renewable Energy business.

First stop in the @generalelectric Haliade 150-6MW #WindCycle: blade production. At our factory in Castellón, #Spain, we made the 198 LM blades that will eventually spin at #Merkur offshore wind farm. Each blade is 241 feet (73.5 meters) long and 27 tons, helping the turbine generate 6 MW of energy. Photographer @nicanorgarcia captured a worker finishing the surface of a blade. #WeKnowBlades #LMplaces #lmwindpower #greenbusiness #wind #windworks #windturbine #windturbines #renewables #windpower #windenergy #renewableenergy #cleanenergy #future #sustainability #Haliade #GE #engineering
