Large scale transportation

When the blades come out from the factory, they need to be transported to a storage area or the wind farm where they will be installed. LM Wind Power Service & Logistics offers blade transportation from any LM Wind Power factory in cooperation with the leading logistics provider Professional Logistics Group (PLG), applying our extensive experience and expertise in blade handling.

We call this our Blade Logistics System BLS, which is a supplementary logistics service offered to LM customers. The BLS leverages the global transportation activity, blade handling competency, fixture solutions, and in-plant shipment coordination of LM blades into a single, focused resource. This enables easier communication and a low total delivery cost due to improved transportation efficiencies, route optimization, and contract negotiation that leverages the total logistics activity of LM blades worldwide. 

It is often LM Wind Power’s service teams who are installing the blades on our customers’ turbines. This enables easy coordination and our customers can be certain that the blades are handled correctly from the moment they leave our factories to the time when they are mounted on the turbines. LM Wind Power covers the full blade lifetime from blade design, manufacturing, transportation, mounting and service.
