Test

Full-scale tests of blades

LM Wind Power is accredited to test wind turbine blades by DANAK – the Danish Accreditation and Metrology Fund. This accreditation from the official Danish body in this field is the seal of approval for impartiality, reliability and technical competence in the methods used in our testing and calibration laboratories. We carry out both static and dynamic tests on all our new blades, and the results are then incorporated into our integrated test programme.

Infrared and ultrasound scanning

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is an important tool in our work with quality assurance and product documentation. We use a variety of infrared and laser scan techniques for the continuous quality checks during our production process and we use ultrasonic scans for the advanced final checks of our blades.

Integrated blade development

Our aim is to boost the efficiency of wind turbine blades – and also reduce their price. This requires perfect interaction between the blades and all the other wind turbine components.
