The GloBlade® concept represents a new and proactive way of meeting our customers’ expectations for high performing rotor solutions. By utilizing our know-how in aerodynamics and structural design, we have developed  high performance, cost effective rotor solutions.

The first series of GloBlade®, is designed to fit a broad field of the design platforms for today’s 1.5MW turbines – enabling customers to open new markets in wind classes III and IV around the world – with their existing turbine design.

The new blade thus offers to extend the lifecycle of 1.5 MW turbines and increase the annual energy production by up to 5% compared to existing platforms. Because it can be used on existing turbine platforms and in low-wind regions, GloBlade® enables expansion to new markets in wind classes III and IV around the world.

Wind tunnel development

We have used our design experience, specialized wind tunnel and advanced material technology to develop the GloBlade®. The result is a longer, slimmer blade with a superior aerodynamic profile which significantly improves annual energy production.

Availability

We have built-in supply chain flexibility to allow for production in multiple locations; the blade designs are available in all LM Wind Power plants with the same quality and certification
